The Fall Reset
Simple meals. Cozy routines. Little things that make home feel good again.
A Note From Edelvis
This week has been a full one — the kind of tired that actually feels rewarding.
I know many of us know that feeling. We set out to be the best version of ourselves for our children, and frankly, for us. We show up, we make the meals, we tidy the corners, we hold the plans, and we do it because we care.
And that kind of tired? It means we are living with purpose.
So this fall, I'm giving myself — and all of us — a little more grace. A home doesn't need to be perfect to feel good. Dinner doesn't have to be elaborate. The laundry doesn't need to be completely caught up before we sit down and enjoy the evening.
Sometimes the reset is simply making something warm for dinner, putting on comfortable clothes, lighting a candle, getting the kids settled, and letting yourself breathe for a minute.
That's what I want this season to feel like. Less pressure. More intention. Simple meals, cozy evenings, getting outside when we can, and little routines that make everyday life easier.
So this issue is for the moms doing the most, the busy families, and anyone who wants their home to feel a little more peaceful this season.
We don't need to do everything. We just need to make home feel like home.

Things To Start Doing This Fall
Little Fall Things
Simple activities and routines families can actually enjoy.
Take an Evening Walk
Even 15–20 minutes after dinner counts. Bring the kids and let them collect leaves.
Have a Sunday Reset
Choose one day each week. Don't try to reset the entire house.
- — Change the sheets
- — Restock the fridge
- — Plan a few dinners
- — Catch up on laundry
- — Tidy the main living areas
Make a Fall Breakfast
Pick one Saturday morning for pancakes, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, or cinnamon rolls. Put on music and make it an actual moment instead of just another meal.
Visit a Farm or Orchard
Apple picking, pumpkin patches, hayrides, or simply walking around a local farm can become an easy seasonal tradition.
Start a Family Movie Night
Choose one night a week, make popcorn, get cozy, and put the phones away.
Cook Something in the Oven
Fall is the perfect excuse to bring back cozy meals — lasagna, roasted chicken, baked pasta, casseroles, and sheet-pan dinners.
Let the Kids Help
Give children one small household job they can own this season — folding towels, putting away their shoes, helping set the table, or organizing their backpack.
Create a Fall Basket
Keep blankets, books, coloring supplies, puzzles, or small activities in one basket so they are easy to grab during slower evenings.
Declutter One Small Area
Don't start with the entire house. Pick one drawer, one closet, one shelf, one cabinet. Small resets add up.
Go Outside Before It Gets Too Cold
A playground visit, walk, bike ride, backyard play, or simple afternoon outside can become one of the best parts of the season.
C&C Household Tip of the Week
Don't Wait Until Everything Is Done to Enjoy Your Home.
A home is meant to be lived in.
If there are dishes in the sink, toys on the floor, or laundry waiting to be folded, that doesn't mean you can't light a candle, make a cup of coffee, sit down, and enjoy your family.
Reset what you can. Let the rest wait.
A Simple Fall Week
Seven days, one small thing each.
You don't need a perfect week. You just need a few things that make the week feel easier.
C&C Note to Self
This season, I'm choosing:
- Less rushing
- Simpler meals
- More time outside
- A calmer home
- More family moments
- Rest without guilt
What would you add?
We don't need to do everything.
We just need to make home feel like home.
